Three Card Reading

After a hectic day organising for something that at once fills me with anticipation and dread, I decided to stick my hand into my SoulCollage card box and withdraw three random cards for a reading. As the first card showed herself I immediately felt a sense of calm as if the message was "now you can be at peace"...

The second card also brought stillness and contemplation and I thought about stopping there and sitting with these still cards and calming my frantic mind.

But my hand sneaked into the box and withdrew another card, one that carries a much different energy to the first two and as I look at the card on my desk, the third card is shocking alongside the first two.

As I uploaded the images, I noticed the names I gave them when they were originally scanned. The image names remind me of things that were prevalent at the time I made the card - but the names do not define what the card means in this moment. I like that about SoulCollage cards - their imagery and meaning is fluid and changes over time...

Passing OnThe ThinkerSkeleton Woman

Reading:

I am the one who needs peace and solitude
I am the one who seeks stillness
I am the one whose eyes are closed
I am the one who is undecided
I am the one who feels conflicted
I am the one who feels stasis
I am the one who is singing the flesh onto the bones
I am the one who feels exposed
I am the one who waits
I am the one who will stand even if I am broken
I am the one who rides the cycles of energy
I am the black white and red woman

I typed these words whilst gazing at the cards and I feel there is a deep message for me here, a strong symbolism about taking time out to rest, recover and think about things and also time to sit with Skeleton Woman and pay attention to what needs to be cut way as well as what needs to be drummed back to life.

It is obvious to me that each card contains a single woman, that the imagery is singular and striking, perhaps deceptive in their uncomplicatedness...

I'm going to leave these cards on my desk to see what else comes up in this reading... When Skeleton Woman appears, a strong archetype, pay attention

Passion

Description:

I love this card, I especially love the way the three larger images of a couple aren't quite kissing - the energy of the space between them is potent. This card, for me, is about passion and heat - the kind of heat that exists between new lovers and also that catches more familiar lovers off guard ;)

Who are you?

I am the one is passionate
I am the one who is open to love
I am the energy between two people
I am the one who is whole in the moment
I am the one who takes and shares and gives
I am the one who is naked
I am anticipation

What do you have to give me?

I give you the moment, the energy of anticipation. I give you passion and excitement. I give you spontaneity.

What do you want from me?

I want you to live in the moment, to trust in the moment, to enjoy the moment and to cherish the moment.

Boundaries

Description:

This is the twelfth card that I made, way back in Autumn 2006. I often call it my "take no shit" card and it speaks to me most about boundaries, although sometimes it speaks about decisiveness. This is something that I am noticing more about my cards, especially ones that were made some time ago, that their meaning is fluid and can be totally different from one viewing to the next. So just for today, this card says the following...

Who are you?

I am the one who sets boundaries
I am the one who is firm
I am the one who is closed
I am the one who chooses to yield or stay resolute
I am the one who is called a bitch
I am the one who is blocking the way
I am the one who is challenging

What do you have to give me?

I give you the strength to know your boundaries. I give you the self worth to know that honouring your boundaries is not something to be denigrated. I give you the wisdom to know that the shadow side of boundaries are barriers, and that barriers can impede growth. I give you a tower of strength.

What do you want from me?

I want you to be aware of your boundaries and to explore their current relevance before marking the sand. I want you to remember that boundaries can shift as the your journey moves on.

Cards From Gaia

Tonight I made two cards that seem to be different facets of the same voice... I was thinking about beginning journeys and set out to make two cards with images I found in only a handful of magazines... I didn't find any imagery about beginning journeys, unless the symbolism is that beginning a journey requires grounding, but I love these two new cards from the voices of Gaia.
